A father serves as a pillar of stability in his child’s life. He is not only his kid’s first teacher, friend, mentor and a role model but also their biggest supporter. He is the one who silently bears all the hardships of life with a smile for the happiness of his family. We all learnt to thank our mothers for giving us this life but forgot to thank our fathers for making this life worth living it. A man who does not verbally confesses his love for his kid but by his actions shows that the meaning of love for him is his child.
To show our gratitude and to give respect to each single sacrifice our father made we celebrate father’s day. To let him know that all his efforts and hardships are recognised and cherished. Every year father’s day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. We all must celebrate it for the happiness of that one man who puts us before his happiness.
In this era where people hesitate to add their name to their sons my father attached his name to mine, his daughter. This was enough to make his child stand out amongst others. And it was just the beginning, he knows me better than I can ever know myself. Anybody can be a father but it takes a special man to be a dad and he is the best dad I could ever think of. I have had a fair share of near death experiences and he was the one who saved me every time without caring about his own life. A human’s most valuable thing his life , he was ready to
risk it without a second thought for me , any love in any form cannot be be greater than that. I wrote a poem for him that I never presented but now I have the chance here it is. The meaning of happiness for him, translated as my name, Just to see a smile on my face was bearing all this pain. My dad is the reason today for who I am,
No matter what I did he surely was the biggest fan. Never cared about his own needs, Haves a hard time while expressing how he feels. Gave everything before I even asked for them, Always shielding me from this world’s mayhem.
My father’s importance in my life is more than that of sun or anything. As sun is the symbol of provider of life but all I can think of with that meaning is him. My strength, my courage, my provider of life, my dad, I will always be indebted to him.
