SINGAPORE —The highly anticipated “2026 Singapore International Study Trip” successfully concluded in Singapore on July 14, 2026. Students, teachers, principals, and education representatives from Singapore, Canada, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and other countries and regions gathered in the Lion City to participate in an inspiring educational journey combining English-language learning, international exchange, cultural experiences, scientific exploration, leadership development, campus visits, and friendship-building.

With the core objectives of broadening international perspectives, improving English proficiency, promoting cross-cultural communication, and building international friendships, the opening ceremony was held in the conference hall of the National University of Singapore Society, commonly known as NUSS.

The programme featured English speeches by students, campus visits, city exploration, interactive activities, teamwork exercises, and exchanges among international students. These diverse activities created a genuine, dynamic, and inclusive international learning platform for participants from different countries.
University Background Information
The National University of Singapore, commonly abbreviated as NUS, is Singapore’s first institution of higher education and one of the world’s leading universities. Its origins can be traced back to a medical school established in 1905 during the Straits Settlements period.
Today, NUS is a comprehensive research university with 16 colleges and faculties. As of 2026, it was ranked 8th in the world in the QS World University Rankings, 17th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 20th in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, and 68th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the series of inspiring English speeches delivered by education representatives, principals, teachers, and students from Canada, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China.
Several students courageously stepped onto the stage and introduced themselves in English. They shared their expectations for their visit to Singapore, their learning goals, and their hopes of making new international friends.
Although many of the students were speaking on such a distinguished international stage for the first time, their confident, sincere, and courageous performances earned warm applause from the guests, teachers, and fellow students.

Throughout the fully English-guided programme, students visited some of Singapore’s renowned educational, cultural, and historical destinations. They also continuously improved their English communication and teamwork skills through a wide range of activities.

Students from different countries progressed from being strangers to actively communicating, helping one another, exchanging contact details, and sharing information about their respective cultures, schools, and daily lives. They truly experienced the programme’s spirit of “learning through communication and growing through friendship.”

The programme placed particular emphasis on the practical application of English. Students used English to communicate in a genuine international environment rather than learning the language only in a classroom.
They were encouraged to express themselves naturally in everyday situations, team activities, and cross-border exchanges. After several days of intensive interaction, many students became noticeably more outgoing, confident, and willing to speak English actively.
The Organising Committee stated that the Singapore International English Intensive Training Camp was not merely a short-term educational programme, but also a meaningful growth experience that students would remember throughout their lives.
The programme allowed them to see a much wider world and helped them understand that language is not simply a tool for examinations. It is also an important bridge connecting people, cultures, friendships, and future opportunities.

During the programme, international volunteers and accompanying teachers also made significant contributions to its successful organisation.

They actively assisted the Organising Committee in managing and coordinating international students, organising activities, and ensuring that the entire itinerary proceeded safely and smoothly. Their strong sense of responsibility, patience, and dedication played an essential role in the success of the programme.

As the closing ceremony approached, many students found it difficult to say goodbye. They returned home carrying certificates, photographs, friendships, and unforgettable memories.

Although the students had spent only a few days together, they established valuable international connections and developed greater enthusiasm and confidence regarding their future international education.

The organisers stated that they would continue promoting cooperation and exchanges among schools from different countries. Future initiatives will include student visits, teacher exchanges, online joint courses, cross-border classroom activities, international friendship programmes, and long-term educational partnerships.
